Blueberry Smash
The Blueberry Smash is a smash made with THE DUKE Wanderlust Gin, lime juice and Thai basil, shaken over ice and served in a coupe. You will need a shaker and a strainer; allow about five minutes.

Ingredients
- 5cl THE DUKE Wanderlust Gin
- 3 cl lime juice
- 2 cl sugar syrup
- 10-12 leaves of Thai basil
- 15 blueberries or blueberries
Preparation
Place blueberries in a shaker and muddle. Add the remaining ingredients and shake vigorously over ice. Double strain into a cocktail bowl and garnish with blueberries and Thai basil.
If you use blueberries instead of blueberries, the color of the drink will also be different, as with blueberries only the peel contains the blue-violet color. For a strong color in the cocktail, you need to muddle more vigorously.
Tips
- Double strain through an extra fine sieve: herb fragments, fruit pulp and ice shards stay in the shaker.
- Press the herbs and fruit, do not grind them: crushed leaves release bitter notes.
- Chill the coupe with ice and water while you mix.
- Shake hard until the shaker frosts on the outside, roughly ten to fifteen seconds.
