Limited summer edition of THE DUKE FC Bayern Munich Gin
The fact that THE DUKE distillery and FC Bayern Munich harmonize perfectly together was proven in 2020 FC Bayern Munich Edition “Liberalitas Bavarica” clearly shown. For the summer of 2021, we have once again put our heads together with the German football record champions and developed a limited special edition that, with its fruity, sweet notes, is perfect for the hot season. The Munich Summer Edition of our FC Bayern Gin complements the gin-typical juniper berries with other local berries such as raspberries and currants, as well as floral notes of elderflower and edelweiss.
When a club like FC Bayern Munich puts its name on a gin, it is clear that the quality standards are correspondingly high. So it happened that in the fall of last year, after many months of product development in our distillery, the first FC Bayern Munich Gin “Liberalitas Bavarica” came onto the market. A well-rounded thing with a strong juniper body and clear hop notes that express the origin and homeland of the two Munich originals. This perfect one-two is now followed by the next one and the Munich Summer Gin was once again developed by hand with the passion of our distillers, the necessary feeling for detail and of course a lot of love.
The aim of the second, limited FC Bayern Munich Edition was to distill a gin that is perfect for the hot season. With Munich Summer Gin, raspberries, currants, edelweiss and elderflowers end up in the still and are distilled with other classic botanicals such as juniper to create a fruity, harmonious gin with an impressive 42% vol.
This cheerful, colorful mix of ingredients is also reflected in the label and packaging of the 0.7l bottle: the minimalist colors of the classic FC Bayern Gin became a colorful, summery design in which the original is clearly recognizable.
The FC Bayern Summer Edition can be enjoyed either neat or as a Gin & Tonic with our THE DUKE Tonic Water or can be drunk in various cocktail variations. Together with the Munich barkeeper Martin Bieringer, who has already developed the recipes for the signature drinks with the classic FC Bayern Edition, a wonderfully refreshing cocktail has been created for the Munich Summer Gin, which impresses across the board in terms of both taste and color.
