“A Cup of Tea makes everything better” – we have all heard this sentence many times in our life. Where does this saying originate from? We do not want to get involved in speculation on this issue and have simply done what we do best: we mixed three delicious drinks with THE DUKE gin and tea. Earl Grey, Jasmine and Chai Tea are the base for these three Smoked Tea Cocktails, which are garnished with flavoured smoke bubbles before serving.
Smoked Tea Cocktails
The respective tea forms the base for the three cocktails. To make sure the tea is not overshadowed by the other ingreients, it is important that the tea is very strong. For ensure thid, simply make a larger amount of tea, i.e. approx. 2 – 3 tablespoons / tea bag per cup of hot water. If instead you simply let the tea steep longer, you will not get the same result. After some time (e.g. after 3-4 minutes in the case of green tea) aromas and bitter substances can develop which taste rather unpleasant and which you therefore do not want to have in your cocktail.
It is a little more complicated and above all more expensive when it comes to the garnish of the drinks. For this we used a smoke gun, that was developed for exactly such purposes. With a special liquid it blows bubbles like soap bubbles into the air. These are filled with flavoured smoke. The bubbles serve as a garnish when serving smoked tea cocktails and, when burst, spread a pleasant aroma on the drink. When you then take yout first sip, the aromas will additionally seduces the senses.
