CBD Cocktails

What is CBD?

Cannabinoids are ingredients of the hemp plant. Besides THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD (cannabidiol) is one of the most dominant cannabidoids. Both are mainly extracted from the female inflorescences, as the proportion of cannabinoids is highest there.

The “high” feeling typically associated with marijuana consumption is triggered by THC. Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive, so it is not intoxicating. Meanwhile, more and more hemp plants are being cultivated that show an increased CBD concentration and hardly any THC. The THC content of the hemp plants from which CBD is extracted may not exceed 0.2 % in the EU.

To make CBD suitable for daily use, oils or tinctures containing CBD are commonly offered. While CDB tinctures are alcohol-based, cannabis oil containing CBD is mixed with hemp seed oil.

How does CBD work?

Cannabinoids are not only found in the cannabis plant, but are also produced in the body, more precisely in the central nervous system. According to manufacturers, if the body is given additional CBD in the form of cannabis oil or a CBD tincture, it can help to inhibit inflammation, relieve pain and strengthen the immune system.

Since CBD is said to have a number of positive effects on the body, such as reduction of stress and anxiety, promotion of general well-being, anti-inflammatory properties or mild pain relief, and this without an intoxicating effect, more and more people are integrating products from cannabis plants into their everyday diet.

CBD-Öl by “Hanfgöttin”

One way to do this is to use CBD oil. The Munich start-up HANFGÖTTIN sells CBD oil in 5, 10 and 20 percent doses. The three variants allow for individual dosage according to personal preference.

During the production process, the CBD is extracted by a special extraction process (CO2 extraction) from the flowers, leaves and seeds of the hemp plant grown in Europe. The extract is then mixed with high-quality hemp seed oil.

So far, mostly modern bartenders from the USA have discovered CBD oil as an exciting ingredient for their drinks and created interesting CBD cocktails with it.

If you want to use CBD for a cocktail, you should keep in mind that CBD tinctures are alcohol-based and therefore mix well with the remaining ingredients of the drink.

Instead, CBD oil is mainly used as a float because it floats on the surface of the drink. Although there may be a small residue of CBD oil left at the bottom of the cocktail glass, the advantage is that it can be enjoyed with all the senses. You can see it floating on the drink and smell it with every sip. CBD oil can also be wonderfully enclosed in the top foam layer of a cocktail. In the nose and also on the tongue a natural hemp aroma can be detected, which resembles of fresh hay.

We love to work with motivated bartenders to create innovative drinks with our distillates. This of course includes experimenting with new ingredients.have teamed up with the great  Bar Geheimnisse Crew. They create innovative drink creations with high quality products to simply put pleasure over consumption. They are able to give set trends there own twist and also set new ones. In addition, crystal clear King Cubes with engraved hemp leaves were specially made for our CBD cocktails by the ingenious  Tremml Ice Team.

We used CBD Öl von HANFGÖTTIN in 5-% dosage for both of our cocktails. We recommend starting with the low-dose oil and adjusting to the individual dosage depending on your condition and tolerance.
